Writing an essay in response to a reading assignment? Drafting a research paper requiring sources and citations? Prepping for the written portion of the SAT? Working on your college application? Wanting feedback on the rough draft of your poetry, short story, or non-fiction article? I am here and ready to join you to tackle any writing challenge. I have helped students from every grade level, across all genres, from one-on-one coaching to small group workshopping to whole class instruction. My greatest strength and primary goal as a teacher is to serve as a conduit for finding the writer’s voice.

We all have a love language and writing is mine. My best thinking, expression and self-assurance happen while immersing myself in the world of words. And I discovered, pretty quickly after graduating with an English degree from Rutgers College, that I also had a knack for communicating the craft of writing to others. My experience in the classroom reaches back to the late 1990’s. While in two of New Jersey’s Blue Ribbon schools, I worked with a wide range of students, from those tremendously talented who required just some tweaking and nudging to move ideas forward to struggling students who needed a great deal of support throughout the writing process, to get both ideas and words actualized.

Even the most reluctant writers can and do find joy in the process once they take ownership of their work.
